With “SHAPE of LOVE,” MONSTA X explore the many different forms and meanings of love in 2022. The group’s eleventh mini album features six tracks and is led by the groovy title track “LOVE,” while their collaboration with R3HAB on “Burning Up” brings additional electronic influences to the release. Moving between R&B, hip-hop, pop, and more atmospheric sounds, the album once again showcases MONSTA X’s musical versatility.
On “SHAPE of LOVE,” love is explored not only in a romantic sense, but also through the connection to oneself, music, and the people who accompany you along the way. The album becomes especially personal through the members’ involvement in its creation: with “LOVE,” Joohoney produced a MONSTA X title track for the third consecutive time, while Hyungwon and I.M also contributed their own musical ideas to the release. In this way, “SHAPE of LOVE” combines MONSTA X’s signature intensity with a more mature and emotional side. The album is available in four regular versions “Love,” “Originality,” “Vibe,” and “Everything.”
