Description
With “I LOVE,” (G)I-DLE released their fifth mini album in October 2022. The title track “Nxde” combines alternative pop with a sample from Georges Bizet's opera “Carmen,” drawing inspiration from classic Hollywood aesthetics. Songs such as “Change” and “Dark (X-file)” further showcase the group's musical versatility, ranging from emotional melodies to darker sounds.
The album explores themes of self-love, individuality, and freedom from societal expectations. Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, (G)I-DLE challenge the tendency to reduce women to their appearance and emphasize the importance of self-determination. Members SOYEON, MINNIE, and YUQI played major roles in songwriting and production. “I LOVE” is available in three standard versions, “ACT,” “BORN,” and “X-FILE,” each presenting a different side of the concept. An additional compact Jewel Case Edition is available in five individual member versions.
