NJZ (Korean: 엔제이지) is a South Korean girl group originally known as NewJeans. The group was formed in 2022 by ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, and consisted of members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. With their unique sound, which blends elements of pop, R&B, and a touch of ’90s nostalgia, they quickly gained international recognition.

However, in February 2025, the group announced a name change to NJZ after terminating their contracts with ADOR in November 2024. They accused the label of unfair treatment and discrimination—allegations that ADOR denies. Despite ongoing legal disputes, NJZ performed at ComplexCon in Hong Kong in March 2025, where they showcased new music.

Since then, the group has paused their activities to await court decisions. However, the members emphasized that they continue to work on their music and want to highlight their artistic independence. The ongoing legal battles could have long-term effects on the K-pop industry, especially regarding artists' rights and autonomy.
