T-ara was a South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by MBK Entertainment (formerly known as Core Contents Media). The group originally included members such as Jiyeon, Hyomin, Eunjung, Qri, Boram, Soyeon, and Hwayoung. T-ara gained massive popularity in the K-pop scene with catchy hits like "Roly-Poly" and "Bo Peep Bo Peep."
In 2012, the group became embroiled in controversy due to reports of bullying and mistreatment involving member Hwayoung. Allegations surfaced that the other members had excluded and bullied Hwayoung, causing tension within the group.
The scandal led to Hwayoung's departure, and T-ara faced a significant public image crisis. Despite the backlash, the group managed to recover and continued releasing music. Over time, the former members also pursued individual careers in music, acting, and other entertainment fields.
In 2018, the group left their agency and reformed as a four-member lineup consisting of Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Jiyeon. Despite the controversies, T-ara remains an important group in K-pop history, remembered for their impact, music, and achievements.
