On November 15, 2021, Keystone Entertainment posted an image on Twitter announcing that they would be releasing a nine-member boy group (then tentatively named KEYSTONE BOYZ) in 2022. On December 20, 2021, Keystone CEO and founder Sam Choi revealed the group's first member, Youngbin.

Sodam, Siwoo, Louis, Donghyuk, U, and Mikey were presented as members a few days later.
On January 28, 2022, Keystone announced that the official name of the group would be BLANK2Y.  On March 15, it was announced that BLANK2Y'S seven-part debut reality show would be aired weekly on the group's official YouTube channel and KAVECON starting March 20. On March 21, the CEO revealed that the group will debut in May.

On May 24, the guys finally made their official debut and revealed their new fan name to their fans, which is "K2YWE." Their first mini album "K2Y I : Confidence [Thumbs Up]" was also released on the same day. In August her first comeback followed with the mini album "K2Y II : Passion [Fuego]".

Even though their fanbase is slowly getting bigger and bigger, the guys couldn't achieve any big successes until then, but in 2023 a great opportunity opened up for the group. On January 10th BLANK2Y was announced for 2 days as part of the line up of the KFLEX Festival 2023 in Frankfurt. In any case, it remains exciting where the journey of the group still goes.
